49ERS 75TH ANNIVERSARY CONCEPT 2018
The San Francisco 49ers will be celebrating their 75th anniversary as an organization during the 2021 season. This uniform was created to commemorate this milestone.
San Francisco is known for its gold rushes, whether it’s the 1840s when miners (which the 49ers were named after) moved to the Bay Area to mine for gold, or the modern-day gold rush, also known as the tech boom.
Using the future’s technology to honor the past, fans will have the opportunity to participate in a Virtual Reality experience.
This was a conceptual project created in 2018 as a project for a college course. It eventually lead to a full-time position with the San Francisco 49ers. that then lead to the creation of the official 49ers 75th anniversary logo, in which I became the lead designer for.

Nike’s new “City Edition” uniform campaign was created by the NBA to commemorate iconic landmarks, influencers, and anything that makes the city unique. I was tasked with creating a City Edition uniform of my choice with the team of my choice. Included with the uniform, we have to create fan items as well as an event that tie in to our City Edition story.
The 75th anniversary patch design was created from many different elements and inspirations from San Francisco history, whether it is the shape of a shovel to the iconic landmark of the City.
A blue stripe is unconventional on a 49ers uniform, but was included to pay respects to the home of the 49ers, Levi’s Stadium. The Levi’s Strauss company started the same time as the gold rush in the 1840’s in San Francisco to provide miners with pants suitable for mining gold.
While the minimal uniform design was incorporated to stay true to what 49ers uniforms have been for the past 75 years, added features add a fresh look while referencing the history of this organization.
The 49ers Faithful have the best fans in the NFL, but sometimes subtlety is the loudest design.
The idea behind the Icon pocket tees idea is to have snapshots of the most iconic events that have happened in the prosperious 75 years of the 49ers history on a pocket.
Each shirt will also include the name and date of the image on the inside of the pocket.
Fan items would be created in collaboration with Levi’s Strauss and Nike. Apparel created are for loyal fans that get subtle references on their clothing.
Using the future’s technology to honor the past, fans will have the opportunity to participate in a Virtual Reality experience.
Fans will be able to travel around iconic landmarks of San Francisco and 49ers history and scan the landmarks to go back in history, bringing nostalgia to the longtime 49ers Faithful while educating new fans what this franchise has been able to solidify in 75 years.
